On Friday, January 12th Mrs. Bowdell (Lindemann Elementary School) and the girls scouts troop leaders organized an after school special event where the girls scouts troops learned about several fitness activities. The event was set up into multiple stations taught by parent volunteers and several AP staff members who were also college athletes. A few of the stations included: Carrie Solak attended MSU(softball) and taught the girls several softball techniques, Dana Brown attended WMU (CC & Track) and taught the girls several running techniques, and Krissy Bowdell EMU (basketball) taught the girls several basketball techniques. The goal of the event was to encourage and promote fitness in girls/ women, teach the girls about new sports, and ultimately help the girls to earn their fitness badge for girl scouts.
